Police investigation leads to drug trafficking charges

An investigation by the Dryden OPP Community Street Crime Unit has led to charges being laid against a Zealand Township resident.

DRYDEN – According to OPP Northwest Region, after a traffic stop on Mary Avenue on the evening of July 23 police found suspected illicit drugs, as well as Canadian currency and evidence of drug trafficking.  

The investigation resulted in the arrest of a 32-year-old Zealand Township resident.

The resident was charged with two counts of drug trafficking, possession of currency obtained by crime, and failure to comply with a probation order.

The accused has been held in custody and scheduled to appear before the court on July 31.
