ATIKOKAN — For the second time this month, Ontario Provincial Police in Northwestern Ontario have laid charges after catching a motorist allegedly doing donuts in a parking lot.
OPP released details Wednesday of an incident that occurred last week in Atikokan.
They said they responded on the evening of Apr. 16 to a complaint that the driver of a pickup truck was doing donuts in a local parking lot.
Investigating officers found that his actions had resulted in mud and dirt being spattered on other vehicles in the lot.
A 37-year-old Atikokan man was taken into custody on a charge of mischief.
He was later released with a promise to appear in court next month.
Thunder Bay OPP recently charged a man with stunt driving and operating a vehicle without insurance after he was caught doing donuts in the parking lot of the Blake Community Hall in Neebing.
It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when we are unlikely to follow the case to its conclusion in the courts.
