Police arrest driver who attempted to flee in stolen vehicle

The accused is charged with flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation, drug possession, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

KENORA — A 32-year-old from Winnipeg was arrested after attempting to flee from police in a stolen vehicle.

Provincial police said officers attempted to pull over a vehicle that was seen driving erratically in Kenora on Thursday morning.

The driver took off, and police determined the vehicle had been reported stolen.

The provincial police canine unit and the Treaty Three Police Service assisted in the investigation.

The driver was found and arrested without incident.

The accused is charged with flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation, drug possession, and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

The accused is scheduled to appear in a Kenora court.
