FORT FRANCES – After receiving a report of a snowmobile falling through the ice on Rainy Lake near Five Mile Dock Road, the OPP is requesting that the driver contact the police so they can conduct a wellness check.
According to OPP, the incident happened at around 1 p.m. on Wednesday. A witness saw the driver get out of the ice and left on a separate machine.
Police are looking to identify the driver so a wellness check can be conducted and confirm with the driver there were no other occupants.
OPP's Emergency Response Team (ERT) and K-9 have been deployed to assist in locating the male.
