OPP reporting increased vehicle break-ins in Sioux Lookout

Police say there has been a noted increase in vehicles being rummaged through and urging people to lock their vehicles and keep valuable items out of sight.

SIOUX LOOKOUT — Provincial police are reporting an increaes in vehicle break-ins throughout the municipality.

Police issued a news release on Friday, advising that there has been a noted increase in vehicles being rummaged through and urging people to lock their vehicles and keep valuable items out of sight.

There has been a notable increase in incidents south of town between Fanning Avenue to Aspen Drive, and locations within the western portion of town between Front and Prince streets, police added.

Anyone with information or images and videos of break-in incidents is asked to contact the Sioux Lookout OPP.

Police have asked anyone who has been a victim to report the incident, adding that proper information helps identify high-crime areas for patrols.
