DRYDEN — According to OPP Northwest Region, on the morning of June 21 officers with the Dryden OPP Detachment conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17 in the municipality of Machin after observing a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.
The officers determined the driver was impaired by alcohol.
Further testing found that the driver had a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
As a result, a 43-year-old from Regina was arrested and charged with impaired driving, driving with liquor readily available, speeding, failure to surrender an insurance card, driving with cannabis readily available, failure to stop for an emergency vehicle, and failure to surrender a vehicle permit.
Twelve hours later, officers with the Dryden OPP Detachment responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Government Street.
The officers determined that the driver was also impaired by alcohol.
Further testing found that the driver had a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.
As a result, a 32-year-old from Dryden has been arrested and charged with impaired driving.
The 43-year-old has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court in August.
