OPP lays robbery charges in Sioux Lookout

Sioux Lookout OPP has laid a robbery charge after an incident in the downtown area.

SIOUX LOOKOUT – OPP Northwest Region is reporting a 21-year-old from Sandy Lake First Nation has been arrested and charged in connection to a robbery at a store on Front Street.

Around 6 p.m. on May 22, officers responded to a call for service at the store in the Sioux Lookout downtown.

According to the OPP, the accused left the store with unpaid merchandise. An altercation occurred when an employee intervened and then the 21-year-old fled the area.

Officers located and arrested the accused a short time later.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the court in July.
