OPP lays assault charges in Sioux Lookout

One individual has been arrested and charged following an assault in Sioux Lookout.

SIOUX LOOKOUT – Officers with the Sioux Lookout OPP Detachment and Emergency Medical Services responded to an assault in the area of Town Beach on Aug. 14 at approximately 9:45 p.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found an individual who had sustained injuries and EMS transported the person to hospital.

Shortly after, officers located the accused and placed them under arrest.

As a result, a 31-year-old from Kingfisher First Nation was charged with assault and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

The accused is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear before the court on Aug. 15.

The OPP will not release the name of the accused to protect the identity of the victim.
