OPP lay impaired charges during a traffic stop

DRYDEN –  OPP officers arrested and charged one individual with impaired driving on Aug. 23 at around 3 p.m. during a traffic stop at a local business.   

As a result of the investigation, officers determined that the driver of a motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol/drug. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Dryden OPP detachment for further testing.  

A 53-year-old man from Ear Falls has been arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs, driving a vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available, driving a motor vehicle with no validated permit.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on Oct. 7.
