OPP investigating suspicious death in Dryden

Police say they located a deceased male on Wednesday night at a home on Whyte Avenue.

DRYDEN -- Dryden, Ont. OPP are investigating a suspicious death in the Northwestern Ontario community after an alleged assault took place at a home on Whyte Avenue.

In a release issued on Thursday night, police say they were called to the address at abiout 10 p.m. on Wednesday, where they located a deceased man.

The man's name has not yet been confirmed and a post-mortem will be conducted in Toronto.

Police say while it doesn't appear to be a random incident, the public should still maintain awareness of their personal safety at all times.

No arrests have been made public.

The investigation is being led by Dryden OPP, the North West Region Crime Unit and the OPP's forensic identification services unit.
