ATIKOKAN — A resident of Atikokan is facing drug-related charges after Ontario Provincial Police intercepted a vehicle travelling from Thunder Bay to Atikokan.
The incident occurred Friday afternoon on Highway 11.
OPP said officers from the Atikokan detachment, assisted by the Rainy River District OPP community street crime unit and the Northwest Region canine unit, conducted a search of the vehicle and found 115 grams of cocaine hidden inside.
The drugs have an estimated street value of $11,500.
Police seized the vehicle and a cellphone as items related to crime, and charged a 30-year-old man with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
