OPP charge two with drug trafficking

Sioux Lookout OPP arrested and charged two residents with drug trafficking.

SIOUX LOOKOUT – OPP Northwest Region is reporting that officers received a call for assistance at a local hotel at around noon on June 12.

While responding, they found two individuals breaching court orders. Officers said they seized suspected illicit substances including methamphetamine and cocaine, drug trafficking paraphernalia, and Canadian currency.

As a result, a 20-year-old and a 24-year-old from Sioux Lookout have been arrested and charged with drug trafficking and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

The 24-year-old also faces additional charges including possession of property obtained by crime and obstruction of a police officer.

Both accused have been remanded to the Kenora District Jail and are scheduled to appear before the court on Friday.
