OPP arrest one for impaired driving following a collision

The OPP said a 30-year-old driver from Couchiching First Nation was impaired by alcohol, causing damage to property as a result of the collision.

FORT FRANCES – Officers with the Rainy River OPP responded to a motor vehicle collision in the 400 block of Nelson Street in the late morning of Jan. 11.

The OPP said a 30-year-old driver from Couchiching First Nation was impaired by alcohol, causing damage to property as a result of the collision.

The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the Rainy River District Detachment for further testing.

As a result, the driver was charged with impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario court of justice on February 12.
