RED LAKE — The province is giving some residents in the Northwest an opportunity to provide input.

The government is holding two public pre-budget consultations, with the first in Kenora on Jan. 9 and the second in Red Lake on Jan. 10.

Anyone interested in presenting to the government's standing committee on finance and economic affairs during those sessions must register online by Tuesday.

The government is holding a public hearing in Red Lake on Bill 46, which it has named the Less Red Tape, Stronger Ontario Act. That session is scheduled to be held on Jan. 11.

The bill is proposed omnibus legislation, that would amend several existing acts, including the Animal Health Act, Court of Justice Act, Juries Act, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Act, Oil, Gas and Salt Resource Act, Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Corporation Act, Provincial Offenses Act, and Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.

Anyone interested in making a presentation during that session must register by Wednesday.
