FORT FRANCES -- One person was taken to hospital following an assault Monday evening assault.
According to Ontario Provincial Police release, officers were contacted regarding an assault on Monday around 8:30 p.m. that had taken place in Fort Frances.
Police say the victim suffered severe injuries and was transported to hospital for assessment.
As a result of the investigation, Mitchell Chiefson, 34, of Fort Frances has been charged with aggravated assault.
Chiefson was remanded into custody and is to appear in a bail hearing on March 10 in Fort Frances Provincial Court.
