FORT FRANCES -- Raj Sangha is developing a knack for scoring timely goals.

A week after scoring the overtime tally in a road win over the Dryden Ice Dogs, the Thunder Bay North Stars defenceman was at it again, netting what proved to be the game-winner in the third period in a 3-2 triumph over the host -- and winless -- Fort Frances Lakers (0-4-0).

It was the fifth goal of the season for Sangha, who powered the Stars to a fifth straight road win. The goal came with Fort Frances goaltender Paolo Suppa on the bench for an extra attacker, the Lakers already up a man on the power play.

Dimitri Trahiotis and William Demkiw also scored for the North Stars, the goals coming less than five minutes apart in the first. Kaleb Bruyere, with his second of the season, and Ethan Carlson-Jourdain, with his first, scored for the Lakers, who have lost all four games they've played this season.

Conner Lemieux picked up the win in nets for Thunder Bay, making 26 stops. Suppa made 35 saves in taking the loss.

The Stars home opener is next Friday at Fort William Gardens against the Thief River Falls Norskies.
