DRYDEN – The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation is investing $447,891 into the City of Dryden’s Signature Trail.

"The 5.4 km long Dryden Signature Trail that meanders along the Wabigoon River as part of an interconnected nature and urban trail system, was established for the benefit of locals and visitors alike,” said Greg Wilson Mayor of Dryden. “As creatures of the province, municipalities are dependent on Queen’s Park for funding and we are grateful for their financial support this year in helping us further develop this part of our complete Dryden trail network."

The Signature Trail project is expected to enhance the development of the waterfront by completing repairs, upgrades, landscaping, wayfinding and the installation of interpretative panels along the trail. The improvements will also create easier access to the trail system, provide additional seating along the trail, and improve the overall user experience.

"Our government is enhancing community infrastructure to promote healthier and more vibrant communities with a higher quality of life for residents,” said Greg Rickford, Minister of Northern Development. "Our government is proud to make this investment to improve and develop the riverfront Signature Trail in Dryden as we know that it is integral to the tourism and economic development of the community."
