NAPS arrests three for drug trafficking

SANDY LAKE – After executing a search warrant at a home in the community of Sandy Lake on March 6, officers with the Sandy Lake Nishnawbe Aski Nation detachment found about $30,000, a quantity of suspected cocaine, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

According to NAPS, as a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old and an 18-year-old, both from Winnipeg; and a 43-year-old from Sandy Lakes First Nation were arrested and charged with having money connected to crime.

The 18-year-old was also charged with failure to comply with the undertaking.

All three appeared in bail court on March 7 and were remanded into custody with future appearance dates.
