Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing hosts disaster recovery assistance information session

Many Municipalities in the region have been faced with flooding due to high levels of water in their rivers and lakes. The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing is hosting information sessions for residents to learn about their Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians program.

FORT FRANCES—The Town of Fort Frances invites residents in the community and region to register for virtual information sessions meant to help the public apply for the Disaster Recovery Assistance for Ontarians program. This is a program offered by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.

The Municipality indicated that each session will be virtual and will begin with a 45-minute presentation, followed by a question period. The session will cover topics such as:

  • An overview of the guidelines                                     
  • Who is eligible and what costs are covered under the program
  • How to apply
  • Type of application and documentation required
  • Question and answer period

This information session is said to take place Thursday, May 26, 5:30-7 p.m. (Central Time), with residents able to register for more than one session, if they wish.
