KENORA – Eric Melillo will run again for the Conservatives in Kenora-Kiiwetinoong.

The two-term MP on Wednesday announced he would seek a third term in the riding in the upcoming federal election.

“It has been an honour to serve residents in Northwestern Ontario as MP for the Kenora riding for the last five years,” he said in a release.

First elected in Kenora in 2019, he was re-elected in 2021.

In 2022, following the redistribution of federal ridings, the riding’s boundaries were changed and renamed.

“I am proud to be part of our Conservative team that is holding this NDP-Liberal government to account and is working to bring common sense back to Ottawa,” Melillo said. “If re-elected as MP, I will continue to stand up for the concerns of residents and be our voice in Ottawa.”

Melillo said he believes in the leadership of federal Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre and his plan to cut the carbon tax, build homes and present a fiscally responsible budget.

“Only a Conservative government will right this ship and put Canadians back in control of their lives, build affordable homes, lower prices by capping inflationary spending and bring home safe streets,” Melillo said.
