NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO — Provincial police in the region were busy during their last reporting period.

During the week of June 30 to July 6, police logged 2,021 incidents across Dryden, Kenora, Sioux Lookout, Red Lake, and Rainy River.

A majority of these calls to police were for eTickets, liquor license control act, unwanted persons, or for property checks.

Of the two thousand plus incidents logged, 536 charges were laid.

Police in Dryden issued the most charges: 20 for criminal incidents and 171 under the Highway Traffic Act.

The OPP is reminding the public about its online reporting system, which allows citizens to self—report minor incidents and crimes, providing an alternative to having an officer attend the scene.
