NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO — OPP in Northwestern Ontario saw a small increase to the number of calls for service they received last week.
Police responded to a total of 1,554 calls last week in the four anchor communities of Dryden, Kenora, Sioux Lookout and Red Lake; this is an increase of just 25 calls across all four communities policed by the OPP compared to the previous week.
Officers responded to numerous eTicket occurrences, unwanted persons, police assistance and liquor licence control calls.
A combined total of 399 criminal and Highway Traffic Act charges were laid during the OPP's reporting period for last week.
The OPP is reminding the public about its online reporting system - Citizen Self Reporting (CSR). which can be used as an alternative to having an officer attend a scene for minor incidents and crimes.
