NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF KENORA
*******************

The water levels on Lake of the Woods have receded significantly over the past two weeks and remedial work on City infrastructure, as well as private properties, have been initiated.

The public is encouraged to properly dispose of any sandbags that they may have added to their property by dropping them off at the Transfer Station, 401 Mellick Avenue, at the recycle entrance area. As you enter the recycle entrance, to the left there is an area identified that you can leave your intact sandbags.

Further, the City’s sand that has been available for public use for creating sandbags will be removed from Fourteenth Avenue North on Monday, Aug. 29. There will be no further sandbags issued from Fire Station One.

We thank the public for their cooperation during this flooding period.
