KENORA – After a major water main break on Tuesday, the City of Kenora is advising residents north of the Canadian Pacific Railway not to consume water from the City of Kenora’s distribution system.
Resident in this area must boil their water first to eliminate harmful bacteria in the water that may cause illness.
Once boiled, the water can be stored in the refrigerator in a clean, food-safe container and should be used for activities where it may be ingested, including:
- brushing teeth or soaking false teeth
- washing fruits and vegetables
- adding to uncooked food or drink
- ice cubes
The advisory shall remain in effect until a Notice of Rescind is issued.
