Kenora shares Earth Day challenge with its community

This year's Earth Day is asking everyone to "Invest in Our Planet". April 22, 2022, is the day when we are being asked to go out into our communities and help make them healthier, and cleaner for everyone. The city of Kenora has its own challenge for its residents for that day.

KENORA — April 22 is Earth Day; a day when we are being asked to go out and do something to preserve and protect our planet. According to earthday.org the theme this year is “Invest in Our Planet”.

The Municipality of Kenora has put out its own challenge for Earth Day. It is encouraging its community to get involved, “Adopt-a-Block” and go out to “pick up 22 pieces of trash” on April 22.

Residents willing to participate in this challenge are asked to visit the Lake of the Woods Discovery Centre, 931 Lakeview Drive, to “Adopt-a-Block” in your neighbourhood, and pick up their trash collector kit. The Municipality also shared that the ultimate prize up for grabs by participants is, "a cleaner and safer community for all Kenora residents to enjoy."

Participating in this challenge is a great way to get involved, enjoy the outdoors while at the same time doing your part in making your community more beautiful than it already is.
