KENORA—If you're one of those residents who have your own backyard composter, then the Township of Kenora thinks you are using a great method to reduce waste.
The township encourages backyard composters and recently shared the fact that, according to Statcan.ca just over three-quarters of Canadian households (76 per cent) indicated that they composted either kitchen or yard waste in 2019, up from 61 per cent in 2009.
In addition, their study showed that three-quarters of the household organic kitchen and yard waste that was composted was collected by a city or private company.”
The Township of Kenora encourages residents to recycle and to take advantage of a backyard composter to help reduce household waste.
