KENORA – Melvyn Hanton of Kenora has that “6/49 feeling” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 second prize worth $167,497.90 in the June 22, LOTTO 6/49 draw.
He also won $2 on his ENCORE selection, bringing his total winnings to $167,499.90!
Melvyn, a heavy equipment operator, says he has been playing his numbers for 17 years and this is his first win. "I checked my ticket at the store, and I was shocked. I started to shake when I realized it was real," he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. "I told my parents, and they were super excited!"
The father of one and grandfather of one say this is a fantastic feeling. "You never know if it will happen to you – but it's amazing!"
Melvyn plans to invest and save his win for retirement. "Maybe I will take my granddaughter to Disneyland," he smiled.
