KENORA—Residents of the City of Kenora and region will now have access to what the city calls a “Trigger Point Evaluation System” for flood zones.

The city has indicated that it has been reviewing and researching safety standards related to flooding, and as a result, has decided to adopt an evaluation system to trigger action levels for flood zones.

They ask too, that residents and the region keep in mind that this list can change at any time depending on rising water levels.

By visiting the link that the City of Kenora has provided the “Trigger Point Evaluation System” can be accessed. The system uses a five-point indicator that describes the condition and action required for each level from numbers one to five.

It also outlines the roads being monitored, the status of the roads in flood zones and the current trigger point assignment. Once again, the city cautions its residents to recognize that, “The trigger points can change at any time depending on lake and creek levels.”

To view this Trigger Point Evaluation System, as it exists as of June 3, visit the city's Facebook page.
