A Kenora resident is $250,000 richer after winning the top prize in an OLG Instant Scramble game.
Glendon Loranger said it’s his first big payoff after years as a dedicated lottery player, in a statement shared by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commission.
“I've been playing for 40 years," he sai while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque. "I went to the store and used the ticket checker and saw Big Winner come up on the screen. I was completely shocked – I couldn't believe it!"
Loranger, a retiree, father of five, and grandfather of three said he immediately shared the good news with this son.
"He was so happy for me, and I think a little jealous," he laughed.
He said he plans to use the winnings for a down payment on a house and to purchase a new car.
The winning ticket was purchased at Husky on Chipman Street in Kenora.
