Kenora appoints new Director of Development Services

The City of Kenora appoints Jeff Port as the city’s next Director of Development Services.

KENORA Jeff Port returns to the City of Kenora staff to serve in the role of Director of Development Services.

“I am excited to embrace my new role as Director of Development Services with the City of Kenora. While the City faces many challenges ahead, there are also great opportunities for improvements in planning, building and economic development. I see a bright future for the community and its citizens,” stated Port.

Having a Master’s degree in Planning and Development from the University of Guelph, Port’s resume includes a role with the city as the City Planner during the amalgamation of Kenora and Keewatin. He also held the position of Director and Planning and Development in the Township of Sioux Narrows-Nestor Fall. He is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute. Over the past decade, Port operated his consulting firm on land development across the region.

“Jeff brings extensive knowledge and history to the city that will be extremely beneficial to the Development Services Team. We are looking forward to the expertise that he will bring to the city along with a complete understanding of Ontario land planning and processes. Our city has several large developments forthcoming and having a strong leader to guide these projects will be key to the success of the developments and investment we are experiencing,” stated Kyle Attanasio, Chief Administrative Officer.

Mr. Port will officially assume his duties on Nov. 15 and will lead the Development Services Department in the city.
