KENORA—Before wishing their students a safe and enjoyable summer, the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board, updated parents, guardians and students about bus service for next fall and for those taking summer programs. The Board described specific exceptions for students who have been regularly using the bus this year.
Students who rode the bus regularly at the end of this school year will be automatically registered for bussing next year with the following exceptions:
- Students whose distance eligibility has changed (entering Grade 1, Grade 4, Grade 9 or changing schools). Parents and guardians of students who are no longer eligible for bussing will be contacted by email mid-July.
- Returning Grade 12 students must re-register for bussing.
They added that if you are new to bussing or will be moving over the summer, you can check your transportation eligibility or register for the bus at www.nwobus.ca.
All parents and guardians are reminded to check your transportation arrangements before the start of the school year, as your bus number or stop times may have changed. You can do so beginning mid-August by using our Parent Portal www.nwobus.ca/parent-portal.
In addition, they wish to inform parents and guardians that, "If your child rode the bus this year but doesn’t plan on using service next year, please let us know by emailing [email protected] . If you opt out now you may register your child for bussing at a later date."
