FORT FRANCES -- Rainy River OPP charged three impaired drivers in six hours last week in Fort Frances.
According to a release, officers received a report on Friday, June 17 around 11:30 p.m. from Canada Border Services Agency stating a person had failed an Alcohol Screening Device and requested police to attend.
The driver was arrested and was transported to the detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old, of Fort Frances, was charged with operation while impaired - alcohol.
Two hours later, officers conducted a traffic stop on Saturday, June 18 around 1:30 a.m. on the 600 block of Scott Street.
While speaking with the driver, observations were made that the driver had been consuming alcohol.
Police said the driver was arrested and returned to the detachment for further tests.
As a result, a 33-year-old of Fort Frances was charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
Less than two hours later, officers conducted a traffic stop around 3:15 a.m. on the 500 block of Kings Highway 11, again after speaking with the driver, observations were made that the driver had been consuming alcohol and was arrested.
The driver was transported to the detachment for further tests and as a result, a 49-year-old of La Vallee Township was charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and operation while impaired blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
All three have been release to a court date in July in Fort France to answer to the charges.
