RED LAKE -- A traffic stop in Balmertown has resulted in impaired driving charges for a Nestor Falls resident.
According to an Ontario Provincial Police release, officers initiated a traffic stop on Aug. 31 just before 1 a.m. along Detta Road, Balmertown.
Police say it was determined the driver of the vehicle had been consuming alcohol.
The officer made a demand for an approved screening device breath sample. The driver failed, was placed under arrest & returned to the detachment for further tests.
As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old of Nestor Falls, was charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs and operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
She was released by way of Undertaking for Red Lake court on Oct. 20, 2022 at 9 a.m. to answer to the charges.
