KENORA — An Ear Falls man has been charged with impaired driving following a RIDE program last week.

While conducting a R.I.D.E. program on April 17, OPP officers stopped a vehicle around 11:30 p.m.

Police suspected the driver to be under the influence of alcohol.

During the investigation, officers determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol, and an approved screening device test was administered.

The driver failed the test and was arrested, then transported to the Kenora detachment, where additional breath testing was conducted.

A 32-year-old man from Ear Falls was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams.

They were also issued a 90-day license suspension, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released and has a future court date.

It is Newswatch policy not to name people facing criminal accusations when we are unlikely to follow the case to its conclusion in the courts.
