RED LAKE, Ont. – In the early morning of April 9, officers from the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police stopped on motor vehicle for violating the Highway Traffic Act along Hasaga Street, within the Municipality of Red Lake.
Throughout the investigation, the operator of the motor vehicle had been consuming alcoholic beverages. The operator was placed under arrest and returned to the Red Lake Detachment for further tests.
As a result, 29-year-old of Ear Falls, was charged with disobeying a stop sign and operating a motor vehicle while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration 80 plus.
Motorists who drive impaired by alcohol or drugs are subject to driver’s licence suspensions, fines, vehicle impoundment, criminal records and increased insurance costs. Please drive responsibly, don't drink and drive.
