Impaired charges laid in Red Lake

RED LAKE —  After officers performed a traffic stop in the Municipality of Red Lake, one individual was arrested and charged with impaired operation, according to OPP Northwest Region.

In the late afternoon of April 11, officers with the Red Lake OPP initiated a traffic stop on a motor vehicle in the area of Hughes Crescent following a traffic violation.

The investigation determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been impaired by alcohol.

As a result, a 31-year-old from Keewaywin First Nation has been arrested and charged with impaired driving.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court on June 20.
