DRYDEN — Two people from southern Ontario face multiple charges after OPP investigated reports of a suspicious vehicle in Dryden.

They were arrested Tuesday afternoon in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant on Government Road.

After initially locating some unmarked cigarettes, police received search authority from the Ontario finance ministry and located more cigarettes as well as cannabis, methamphetamine, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, and an open container of alcohol.

A 54-old-year old resident of Coe Hill, Ont., and a 50-year-old from Cardiff, Ont., were both charged under the Tobacco Tax Act, Liquor Licence Act and Cannabis Control Act with possession of unmarked cigarettes, having liquor in an open container in an unauthorized place, and unlawful purchase of cannabis.

Police said the seized items will all be destroyed.
