IGNACE – The Township of Ignace is inviting the residents to join town officials and JML Engineering Ltd. to a public meeting on Wed., Aug. 24, at 6 p.m. to discuss issues with the Pine Street Culvert at the Agimak River Bridge.
During the spring flooding, the water levels on the Agimak caused significant issues to the Pine Street Culvert.
According to Petrina Tayor-Hertz, Ignace's Communications Specialist, upon investigation"the engineers have found some major deficiencies that need to be fixed now."
This has prompted the council to raise awareness around the need to have the integrity of all culverts checked by an engineer.
Ignace council has invited JML Engineering Ltd. from Thunder Bay to complete their inspection of the culvert and address any public inquiries to the issue of the failing infrastructure.
This meeting is open to all residents of Ignace and will be held at the Ignace Silver Tops Centre at 300 Pine Street on Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m.
All are welcome to attend and discussion on this critical matter as a community.
