The Ignace Public Library is scheduled to reopen on Dec 7.
The library was forced to close after suffering severe smoke damage from a fire in a cigarette container outside of the building on Oct. 17.
A town spokesperson said the opening date is still tentative, but that the cleaning of the library has begun.
The library posted that the health and safety of staff and patrons are top priorities.
It encourages people to use the book drop to return library materials, especially inter-library loan books.
The library said it is still monitoring phone, email and Facebook messages during the closure.
