Higher waterway levels and unstable banks along creeks is a concern of the Township of Ignace.

IGNACE — Concerns with higher waterway levels continue to be a focus of the Municipality of Ignace.

It asked residents to be cautious should they be walking down the pathway between Pine Street and McLeod Street.

The public is reminded to be mindful of the fact that water is moving quickly and the banks along the creek may be unstable in some areas.

The township wants parents, guardians and caregivers to speak to their children about this situation stating that it is important to, “Advise your children to be careful about going too close to the edge or pay close attention to them when they are riding their bicycles or running ahead of you.”

In addition, they did indicate that there is some fencing up as a precaution but that it is still very important to be cautious and to stay safe.
