DRYDEN – The Dryden Regional Health Centre has launched a mobile crisis response team in partnership with the Ontario Provincial Police.
Funded by the Ministry of the Solicitor General, the new program is supporting residents in mental health and addiction crisis situations.
“We are proud of this collaboration with the Ontario Provincial Police and working together to make this valuable service available in our community,” said Doreen Armstrong-Ross, president and chief executive officer at Dryden Regional Health Centre.
A mobile crisis worker will be dispatched with an OPP officer to attend a call for service, as well as respond to live calls, provide preventative outreach, follow-up services and immediate crisis response in the community.
“The MCRT program provides supports to some of our most vulnerable community members, helping to connect them with the care and services they need,” Armstrong-Ross said.
The program will operate Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Services are also available for non-emergent, preventative, and outreach cases by calling the Dryden Regional Mental Health and Addictions administration line (807) 223-6678, or by emailing the MCRT crisis worker directly.
