TORONTO — Enbridge Gas Inc. and the federal and Ontario governments have officially launched the co-delivery of the Canada Greener Homes grant through a single platform.
The federal grants are accessible to eligible Ontarians via Enbridge's Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program.
The program provides rebates toward the cost of eligible retrofits such as home insulation, windows, doors and renewable energy systems.
Homeowners can receive Canada Greener Homes grants of up to $5,000, and current Enbridge customers who are eligible can apply for an additional amount of up to $5,000, for a combined potential grant of $10,000.
Participants can also offset the cost of an EnerGuide home energy efficiency evaluation with a rebate of up to $600.
The Ontario government recommended Enbridge to the federal government to be the co-delivery partner for the Canada Greener Homes Grant in the province.
The gas company serves more than 75 per cent of Ontario residents.
Federal natural resources minister John Wilkinson said the co-delivery agreement takes advantage of existing infrastructure "to rapidly deploy cost-and-climate-saving retrofits across the province while simplifying the process for residents."
Enbridge president Michele Harradence said the initiative is an excellent example of governments and utilities working together to deliver programs that are complementary and coordinated.
