Some areas of Northwestern Ontario are getting an early taste of summer.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for an area that includes Red Lake, Ear Falls, Pickle Lake, Pikangikum and Eabametoong.
The forecast has high temperatures at or approaching 30 C on Friday, with daytime temperatures remaining hot for the next several days. The overnight low Friday and into Saturday is expected to remain between 15 and 20 C, though cooler overnight temperatures are expected beyond Saturday.
Environment Canada cautioned that heat-related risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
