Heat warning issued for parts of Northwestern Ontario

Temperatures will approach or exceed 30 C from Sunday through Wednesday

FORT FRANCES — The first extended heat event of the season will make the next several days unseasonably warm in parts of Northwestern Ontario.

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the region roughly between Shebandowan and Kenora.

Temperatures between Sunday and Wednesday are expected to approach or exceed 30 C.

Meteorologists said overnight low temperatures of 15 to 20 C will provide minimal relief from the heat.

The City of Thunder Bay is just outside Environment Canada's heat warning zone, and will see maximum temperatures in the mid twenties from Monday to Wednesday.
