NORTHERN ONTARIO --A heat warning remains in effect for the region.
Environment Canada says maximum temperatures are expected to be between 32C and 36C on Monday, with little relief from the heat during the overnight hours Monday night into early Tuesday morning, when minimum temperatures are forecasted to drop to between 18C and 22C
The government weather agency says humidex values on Monday are expected to reach between 36 and 42.
This heat event has the potential to continue into Tuesday for some areas.
Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
