NORTHWESTERN ONTARIO -- Heat warning continues for parts of the region on Friday.

Environment Canada says maximum temperatures are expected to reach the high 20s or low 30s again on Friday.

The government weather agency says humidex values are expected to be in the low to mid-30s.

The heat event is expected to come to an end on Saturday with the arrival of cooler air.

Hot and humid air can also bring deteriorating air quality and can result in the Air Quality Health Index approaching the high risk category.

Extreme heat affects everyone.

  • Fort Frances - Emo - Rainy River
  • Seine River Village - Mine Centre
  • Atikokan - Shebandowan - Quetico Park
