Four arrested after search leads to suspected drugs, firearm in Atikokan

ATIKOKAN — Four people have been arrested and face several charges after a police investigation in the Atikokan area.

Provincial police said a search warrant was executed at a residence in the community on March 3, leading to the seizure of suspected illicit substances, a firearm, prohibited devices, and ammunition.

Three Atikokan residents — 34-year-old Maj-lis Bailey, 40-year-old Amanda Malenfant, and 45-year-old Nicola Racioppi — were arrested and charged. A 22-year-old from Brampton, Eric Morgan, was also arrested and charged.

Bailey, Malenfant and Morgan face charges including drug possession for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Morgan is charged with eight counts of failure to comply with a release order. Racioppi is charged with two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

The accused appeared in court over the weekend.

The charges have yet to be tested in court.
