FORT FRANCES—After the Town of Fort Frances Municipal Emergency Control Group recent meeting, residents were informed of of their decision to update their emergency declaration to include flooding due to high water levels.
According to Patrick Briere, CMMIII, property standards executive and emergency management specialist, for the Town of Fort Frances, “We are working to implementing our plans to start sandbagging operations. The first sandbagging operation will take place focused on protecting municipal infrastructure and assets. Once this is completed, we will be looking to implement supports to residents.”
Their announcement also reassured the community that they will continue to monitor the situation, and keep the public informed.
