FORT FRANCES – In the early morning of Jan. 27, officers with the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a motel in Fort Frances where they found an injured individual who had been assaulted.
This individual was transported to the hospital by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) with non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of an investigation, a 29-year-old Fort Frances man was arrested and is charged with robbery with violence and break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The investigation remains ongoing.
The accused has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Fort Frances on Feb. 1 for a bail hearing.
