FORT FRANCES -After months of flooding, the water around Rainy Lake has receded leaving much of the surrounding area soggy.

As clean-up efforts continue along the waterfront the following areas will reopen to pedestrian and vehicular traffic:

1. Front Street (Mosher Avenue to Minnie Avenue)

2. Front Street walking path

3. Front Street bike path

4. Front Street Fitness Equipment

5. Sorting Gap Marina

6. Sorting Gap Gas Docks

7. Rainy Lake Sports Dock

8. Point Park (see below re: Calder Drive closure to vehicular traffic)

9. Point Park Tenting Area

10. Point Park Campsites

With one month left of summer vacation, these docks and campsite are open for the public to enjoy.

However, not all areas have finished their clean-up, and town officials are advising residents that the following areas are still close to the public.

To ensure the safety of the public while clean-up efforts continue to take place, the following closures (pedestrian and vehicular) remain in place:

1. Front Street (Williams Avenue to Minnie Avenue; Mosher Avenue to Armit Avenue)

2. Sorting Gap Playground

3. Lookout Tower

4. The Hallet

5. River Front Docks

6. Point Park Beaches

7. Point Park Playground

8. Point Park Ball Diamond

9. Calder Drive (loop by Vanjura Ball Diamond closed to vehicular traffic)

10. Seven Oaks

Council and staff would like to thank everyone for their patience during this time. As clean-up around Fort Frances continues, residents will be regularly updated.
